☀️ Research and experience tell us that taking vacation results in greater success at work as well as lower stress and more happiness at work and home. That's why we want everyone every year to take time off and enjoy life outside of Toggl on things they love most.

Vacation Policy
- You get 24 business days of paid vacation per year.
- Vacation days are granted proportionally to the time worked at Toggl (24÷12=2 days per month; rounding toward the nearest whole number).
- Vacation days start accumulating from day one.
- We encourage everyone to take at least one longer vacation (2 weeks or more), because we believe this will improve work-life balance and help you get a true rest. You may also use your vacation days in shorter increments, but team leads have the right to not approve single-day vacations, very short-term notice vacations or anything else that unreasonably disrupts the team’s plans or productivity.

❗ Public holidays that fall in your vacation are not counted towards vacation days. When requesting a vacation in BambooHR, it's your responsibility to mark any public holidays with a 0 and write the name of the holiday in the Note field.

‼️ As of August 2024, we updated the carryover policy to better support your work-life balance and ensure you take the necessary rest throughout the year.
New Policy: Starting in 2025, you will be able to carry over up to 5 unused vacation days into the following year. This is a change from the previous policy, which allowed for the transfer of up to 24 unused vacation days.
Transition Period: Please note that the 2024-2025 transition is the last time you will be able to carry over up to 24 vacation days. Beginning January 2025, the new limit of 5 days will take effect.

- Please use your vacation days proportionally throughout the year and don’t wait until the end of the year to use them (keep in mind that team leads have the right to decline vacation requests in case they disrupt the team’s work).
- You have the right to interrupt, postpone or terminate prematurely a vacation for significant personal reasons (sick leave, pregnancy, maternity leave etc) and you may take the unused part of the vacation immediately after the impediment or at another time.
- Should you leave Toggl, you will be compensated for any unused vacation days accumulated by that date. Also, if you have used up vacation days not yet accumulated by your last day, we will deduct the proportional compensation amount from your last salary.
How to Request Vacation Time?
- Vacations have to be approved in BambooHR by your team lead.
- You are allowed to reschedule vacations, but it needs your team lead's approval as we need to take into consideration other team members’ planned vacations and make sure the team's work isn't disrupted.
- You are responsible for adding your vacations and public holidays to Toggl Plan for others to see when you will be unavailable.
- You are not expected to respond to chat messages when you are not working or when you are on vacation. If you are away, please make sure to add a status message with a note about how long you're out of the office and who is replacing you during vacation 🌴.
