Sabbatical Policy
You are eligible for:
- 4 weeks of paid Sabbatical after working at Toggl for 3 consecutive years,
- 5 weeks of paid Sabbatical after working at Toggl for 4 consecutive years,
- 6 weeks of paid Sabbatical after working at Toggl for 5 or more consecutive years
Eligibility for a new Sabbatical renews 3 years after the end date of the last Sabbatical, and the thresholds reset as well.
How To Request a Sabbatical
- Agree with your team lead about the exact dates to make sure your work will be taken care of during your Sabbatical
- Make a request in BambooHR for the time off type 'Sabbatical'
- Turn to Dorian to help with the paperwork (not necessary for contractors)
How To Prepare for a Sabbatical
It is extremely important to make sure your team and the rest of Toggl can operate fully during your absence.
- Communicate about your Sabbatical plans early enough, so all preps can be done in due time
- Wrap up your ongoing projects (or make sure to delegate their completion to someone else)
- Make sure all your recurring tasks are covered by someone else while you are away
- Prepare for the comeback. It is a good idea to already make a rough plan of what you are going to do once you come back (but keep in mind that you’ll spend at least a week upon return to catch up with everything)
- Update your Slack status and state the date when you’re coming back and who’s the person covering for you is while you are away
