Step 1: Retrieve the Job Description

First, head over to LinkedIn and locate the job description.

Step 2: Utilize ChatGPT

Now, bring that copied job description to ChatGPT. You'll need to paste a special prompt; here’s a quick guide to making your own:

Once ChatGPT understands its task, introduce the full job description. ChatGPT will then generate a tailored resume and a complementary cover letter suited for the job. However, remember that ChatGPT might include incorrect details about your experience, so it’s essential to verify and adjust this information accordingly.

But at least you know what information you should add & how to express it.

Bonus Step: Incorporate Company-Specific Information

To further personalize your cover letter, open a new ChatGPT session. Start your prompt with, "I would like to apply for a job position. Here's my cover letter."

Then, include your AI-generated cover letter. Conclude your prompt with a request for ChatGPT to incorporate specific details from the company's website into your cover letter. This step enhances your cover letter with targeted, company-related content.
